Program Guidelines

Eligibility for all of VEAP’s programs is based on residency, need for service and lack of resources.

VEAP does not accept walk-in or same day appointments for any of its programs. Please call ahead of time to schedule an appointment.

If you do not have a phone, Creekside Community Center offers a public phone. Creekside Community Center is located at the corner of 98th Street and Penn Avenue in Bloomington.

You will be asked to provide identification before participating in VEAP’s programs. This includes a photo ID of yourself, a piece of current, official mail and ID for additional household members. VEAP does an annual ID check for all households beginning in January.

VEAP Service Area

VEAP serves residents of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield and South Minneapolis (south of 50th Street and west of Cedar Avenue). To determine if you qualify for VEAP’s services, please contact the VEAP office at 952-888-9616.

Food Pantry

To sign up for the Food Pantry please call VEAP five to seven days ahead of time.

Social Services

To speak with a social worker please call the Social Services Line at 952-888-9616 x 133 and leave your name and contact information. A social worker will return your call within two business days.

Transportation Services 

To schedule a ride please call the Transportation Line at 952-888-9616 x 134 and leave your name, phone number and ride information. Please call at least five business days ahead of time to ensure your reservation. A Transportation Volunteer will return your call as soon as possible.
