Transportation Program

In suburban areas, access to medical care and other basic needs is severely compromised for elderly and disabled residents who can no longer drive a car. A volunteer driver ends the isolation with a ride and friendly conversation.

VEAP Transportation is provided to limited-income seniors and individuals with disabilities unable to transport themselves to medical appointments, grocery shopping and visits to hospitals or nursing homes. VEAP currently owns three vehicles that provide half of all rides given to the elderly or disabled in our community. Volunteers who drive their own personal vehicles make up the other half. These drivers are kind, thoughtful and generous with their time.

VEAP's vans were generously donated by Western National Mutual Insurance Company.
